About this clip

treme_gal_smlFaires was told by the Director and the DP that this was “The Shot” that would set the tone for the pilot. He loves a challenge.

A three and a half city block shot through a real busted up street with downed trees and wrecked cars that had been sadly left there. A second line of dancers that were the real thing and were told to be themselves but try not to hit the steadicam operator. The Dolly grip that had his back was amazing and kept the way clear.

When they got to the corner he decided in the moment that he would transition around Wendell Pierce and the rest of the players… let’s just say they threaded a needle on that one! As happy as Agnieszka Holland was with this shot Faires was even happier because he absolutely loved the challenge that it presented creatively and physically. Still stands out as one of his proudest moments as an operator.
